Donor Relations was a new career in the 90’s. Thanks to the forward thinking (mostly women) Stewardship people, a new concept was developed. Rather than just stewardship, we became Donor Relations Directors. We gathered in New England to meet with other stewardship people, created a list serve as a communication tool then the ADRP organization you now know was born. So, what do we do now? How do we grow and serve our constituents? Let’s talk and compare stories, notes, ideas. My best ideas were stolen from my ADRP friends. This session will talk about how to use our past experiences and transform them into a new way of thinking, communicating, and thanking.

About the Speaker

Toni Robinson was the Director of Donor Relations at the University of Hartford for 18 years. Toni was given the opportunity to create the department and ways to say thank you to all the donors. It took many hours, days, months to create lists of scholarships, donors and student recipients. Working with no real budget challenges you. Previous to the University, Toni served as Executive Director of the CT Democratic Party for 10 years. This position prepared her for managing personalities and successful events. Toni is a veteran of the United States Navy, a widow, mother and grandmother and current President of the Simsbury Newcomers and Neighbors.
